Spiritual Nurturing is designed to help parents with specific, workable ideas to help their child grow spiritually.
Writing a Spiritual Mission Statement
In order for a parent to know exactly how they would like to see their child mature and grow spiritually, they need to think it through and write it down. Steps are given to show exactly how to determine this spiritual life objective.
Specific ideas to stimulate spiritual growth in 12 areas
The purpose of these ideas is two-fold: to provide specific things that any parent can incorporate into their daily life and to act as a catalyst for them to think of their own ideas. They are divided into these areas: Scripture Internet Music Prayer Books and Magazines Special Events Church DVDs and CDs Activities Family Devotions Missions and Outreach Example and Influence
How to implement the ideas
All of us have heard or read things that motivated us, but we never put them into practice. This section shows how to transfer the ideas in this book into daily living.
Dresses for Orphans began in October 2008, and grew out of more than 40 years in ministry. Dan and Darlene Carpenter have served the Lord through their work with organizations like the Billy Graham Association, Walk Thru the Bible and International Prison Ministry. Their personal focus on marriage and the family was evident in the Marriage Plan Seminars they presented together. Darlene also taught Creative Parenting Workshops in churches across the country and wrote the book “Spiritual Nurturing – How to Help Your Child Grow Spiritually.” The Carpenters published this book and sold over 50,000 copies to churches.
